Candle Safety + Care
Candles can be a serious fire hazard if not used and cared for correctly.
Please review the following to ensure safe candle burning in your home and spaces.
We want you to love your candles, and we want you to be safe while loving them!

Candle Safety
-
Before each burn, trim the wick to ¼”.
-
Always burn candles within sight. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
-
Keep burning candles away and out of reach from children and pets.
-
Place burning candles at least 3” apart from other candles
-
Always burn candles on a flat, even, and heat resistant surface away from furniture, drapery, bedding, clothing, and all flammable items.
-
Keep melted wax pool free of debris, like wick trimmings and matches.
-
Extinguish a candle if it repeatedly smokes or the flame becomes too high
-
Never touch or move a candle while it’s burning or when the wax is liquefied.
-
Discontinue using a candle when ¼” of wax remains at the base of your container.
-
Never use water to extinguish a candle or flame/fire containing wax
The Perfect Burn
-
Trim wicks to ¼” before each burn to avoid smoking (black soot), overheating and a flame that is too high.
-
Allow your candle to completely liquefy across the top before extinguishing, to avoid tunneling. Tunneling most often occurs when the candle is not given sufficient time to create a “full melt pool” on the first burn.
-
Refrain from burning candles for more than 3 hours at a time.
-
Before each burn, make sure to check that your wick is still intact and centered.
-
Place lids on candles only after the wax has solidified and the container has completely cooled.
